Thoughts on The Bling Ring

A group of misguided teenagers, desperate for the life (and possessions) of the rich & famous, steal from a few dimwitted celebrities – some of which leave their house keys under the door mat.

This film could be an interesting look at the superfluous Hollywood life marketed to teenagers or a similarly captivating study of adolescent psyche or even a statement about the emptiness of current American culture. But the film does none of these really well.

In the end, it is merely a big budget regurgitation of a story already told countless times in the media.

I don’t know why this film exists.
