Apple released Leopard last Friday, but I only managed to get my copy yesterday. I cleaned up my mac a bit, and installed it on my old 1.8Ghz G5 iMac and believe me, it’s the best upgrade Apple has implemented so far. From simple things like Quick Look, Front Row and the new designed Finder to the changes underneath the hood like Core Animation, this upgrade is worth every cent. The tagline says “Add a new Mac to your Mac” and my first generation G5 iMac feels snappier right after I upgraded even though it’s not optimized for Leopard’s 64-bit technology.

Very nice.

Seems like Microsoft has some serious catching up to do. In case you’re wondering, Apple released 5 major upgrades to the Mac OS X in the time that Microsoft took to deliver Vista.

Five. Five to one. And Vista still looks prehistoric.

If you’re thinking about upgrading to Leopard on an old Mac, here’s a great review from Ars Technica.

Mac OS X has finally matured, and her name is Leopard.
