Keep Begging, Beagle

If you ever had a beagle, you’ll know those eyes. Especially when you’re minding your own business, just having a meal at the table.

Don’t fall for that. The leading cause of obesity in dogs is their owners’ inability to differentiate greed from hunger.

Look away… if you can.

Teeth

Oh man, check out those fangs.

Don’t mess with my beagle.

(They were only playing. No canines got hurt.)

Ode To My Beagle

I’ve been spending far more time at home than I used to. And being home means being with my beagle, my companion.

I love how she’s always wants to be within earshot of me, whether I’m lying in bed or standing by the window.

I can no longer remember how my life was before her. She is family.

A Dog’s Life

Sometimes, I envy my dog’s ability (and time) to nap the day away. Perhaps somewhere along their domestication process, they’ve learnt the art and science of balancing work, play and rest. Growing up… beagle

Tomorrow, my little Angel will be 3 months old. It’s been a crazy few weeks. Waking up early, rushing back from work, cleaning poop, wiping up pee, getting my toes and fingers bitten and all the things you’d expect from a growing puppy. Today, she also reached up and bit my family jewels. A first and last, I hope.

33% extra

Took my little girl to the vet today, and was a little shocked that in 7 days, that little pup put on 33% of her body weight – from 1.8kg to 2.4kg.

In seven days!

TB or not TB

Took little Angel to the vet today for her first check up and to see if there’s anything serious about a cough she’s been having. Apparently, she has inflamed lymph nodes because her body is fighting an infection from a nasty cough. But it’s not that bad as she’s still very active, full of energy and eating and excreting normally. The doc put her on a prescription of antibiotics and cough mixture (which funnily, I had to get from Guardian Pharmacy), and if everything goes well, she should recover in about 10 days. I’m a daddy!

Yup, I’m a daddy today and my little baby girl is THE sweetest little thing. The moment we met her, we fell in love instantly. She is a gentle puppy, and had a quiet confidence about herself when she didn’t eagerly try to impress us. Her docile nature drew me. She is about slightly over 2 months old and her strength in character makes her feel more mature than her age. She’s a tri-colored beagle, and her marking on the forehead looks almost like a heart. And on her back, she has markings that looks like a little pair of wings.
