Spikes

Posted on May 27, 2010

This got picked by my photography class instructor as one of the best shots from the recent shoot.

However, I feel the lack of a foreground and background interest makes it look a little flat and honestly, a little boring. But I do kinda like how the triangles creates a ripple effect across the structure.

So I’m quite iffy about this one. Happy to hear your thoughts so please leave me a comment below.

I think the change in the pattern of the spikes around the middle of the photo keeps it interesting, as does the light falling on some of the spikes to the left. Also, getting a peek under the spikes toward the bottom right keeps you wondering

Yeah the light falloff is keeps the eye moving. Maybe I’m too critical of my own pics.

Glad you kinda liked it. Miss home yet?

We are always the hardest on ourselves. :)

I miss the people and the food mostly, but also some aspects of Singapore. Too bad you can’t pick and choose features for your ideal home city. ;) I feel like I’m “between two worlds” now, if you know what I mean, having spent much of my adult life in the States. I don’t know if I can tahan living and working in Singapore.
