Old Strings

If you ever had a beagle, you’ll know those eyes. Especially when you’re minding your own business, just having a meal at the table.
Don’t fall for that. The leading cause of obesity in dogs is their owners’ inability to differentiate greed from hunger.
Look away… if you can.

There is nothing quite like a nice slab of home made bread. This was my attempt at making a Foccacia topped with Rosemary. Simple but delicious.

This is a very significant date which I completely missed. However, I have a wonky clock that showed yesterday’s date.

This is one of my favorite pictures of all time. It’s been on Flickr and Fotopedia so I thought I’ll post it here for good measure.

I took this while lying on the couch, nursing an awful ear infection.
Originally posted on Instagram so apologies if you’ve already seen this.
p.s. An ear infection is a horrible thing to have.

This was taken some time back in Borneo.
She’s the daughter of a boatman we stayed with, along the Kinabatangan River. Waddy has a twin sister called Irra. When her mother was in labour, the family was rushing to the hospital down the river and they spotted an extremely rare river dolphin called the Irrawaddy.
They were named after the elusive animal.
I promised her I’ll return to visit her a few years later when she’s older. I hope she’ll still remember me then.

I thought my ability to fall asleep standing in a crowded train is something but this guy is right in the middle of New Delhi’s spice market. This is pure skill.

Sometimes photographers get so caught up with depth-of-field and perspective that they forget this medium is really only 2-dimensional.
So let’s drop everything we know and appreciate that sometimes, the world could really just flat.

This was taken in India, at the top of a mosque in New Delhi. I’m amazed there are buildings all the way to the horizon, as far as the eye can see.

Perhaps the highlight of my recent Hong Kong trip was coming face to face with one of these.
It’s true what they say, these bears are impossibly cute. I never understood why they are scientifically under the Carnivora order of the animal kingdom but choose to feast only on bamboo. Here’s an interesting fact for you: A panda requires so much bamboo to stay alive (20-30 pounds a day), they end up defecating alot, up to 40 times per 24 hours.
If you thought I was full of shit, you obviously haven’t met a Panda yet.
Taken from the cable car ride in Ocean Park, Hong Kong.
I’ve never been the biggest fan of cable car rides but the best part of this is that it’s probably the quietest, most peaceful spot in the entire theme park.

From my India trip earlier this year.
India is on track to 1.159 billion mobile subscribers by 2013, exceeding China’s. The growth rate will see employment for 10 million people in the industry by 2012 and is expected to reach a size of US$78.3 billion in the same period.
Here is one man on the phone.
