Finally made it to Apple Store Hong Kong. Had a running bet with Jimmy to see who got there first and he beat me to it.
Nonetheless, it was interesting to see Apple’s retail strategy and its success.

Of course, only an iPad was simple enough for this 73 year old woman who never formally learnt english.

50 of the World’s Best Breakfasts Interesting look at what people eat for their first meals around the world. I usually like mine simple but indulgent so the Italian and Spanish ones would work for me.
Awesome People Hanging Out Together If you’re a pop culture geek like me, you will really enjoy this site. Great pics of great moments – go look for the black and white pic of the cast of the original Star Wars Trilogy.

Ben Hammersley’s speech to IAAC Ben Hammersley is a journalist, technologist and futurist. This is a transcript of his speech, in full to the IAAC about cybersecurity but he touched on many interesting points.
“The internet is the dominant platform for life in the 21st Century. We can bitch about it, but Facebook, Twitter, Google and all the rest are, in many ways the definition of modern life in the democratic West… To misunderstand the centrality of these services to today’s society is to make a fundamental error. The internet isn’t a luxury to life; for most people, knowingly or not, it is life.”
I like Ben’s work and I think he truly understands where the future is headed. I hope many of the world’s decision makers will heed some of his advice.

Lily suffered from a strange medical condition and had her eyes removed since young but she has a good friend Maddison who would be her eyes. The two are inseparable.
Such a great story but from what I’ve read, it appears they’re both up for adoption in UK. I hope they’ll both find a new home soon.

Here’s a list of my favorite underrated guitar players.
Nuno Bettencourt
Guitarist of Extreme (yes, that More Than Words band). At times, a little self-indulgent during his solos but you can’t deny his skill. Watch, as he plays Flight of the Bumblebee at around 4 minutes. Severely underrated because the band is forever remembered for their overplayed ballad.
John Mayer
Better known as a singer-songwriter rather than a guitarist, John Mayer is also famous for some (annoying) radio songs like “Your Body is a Wonderland”. Check out his solo for “Covered in Rain” here and maybe it’ll change your mind.
Prince
Previously known as some weird symbol and infamous for being vertically-challenged. He had some catchy songs back in the day but few people know he’s also an accomplished guitar player. Watch him in the 2004 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performance, where he played with some other guitar greats.
Lenny Kravitz
I’ve never seen this man without his shades so I’m not sure whether he has eyes or not. He’s churned out some good hits but his guitar chops are quite awesome. He also went to school with Slash. See him here, he shreds a little and he also talks about black people and music.
Alex Lifeson
Alex-Who? Alex is the guitarist of a band called Rush, famous for their unique take on progressive rock back in the 80s. Alex is so severely underrated because of bassist Geddy Lee and drummer Neil Peart, who both seem to be a little more famous for their craft compared to Alex. Here’s a video of Alex from their recent tour. Fast forward to around 2:30 when he switches from acoustic to electric guitar.
