I love the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 macro lens I bought a few days back.

Since I’m not qualified to give a proper review, I’ll just say it’s a very good lens for the average amateur photographer.  Macro is one thing, but this lens also works incredibly well as a portrait lens.  The only thing I wish it had was some basic form of Image Stabilizer so I can grab some low-light shots without a tripod.

Anyway, here’s a pretty portrait of doggy.

And I’ve also created my Macro Shots set in Flickr to consolidate all those shots that are coming.  Do swing by and drop me a comment or something.  In the meantime, here’s one I like because of the pretty colors.  It’s a little blur because of my shaky hands (thus my need for Image Stabilizer).
