I love to do absolutely nothing on Sundays. My typical sunday tends to start at 12 midnight, usually staying up as late as this 30-year old body would let me. Waking up late, going straight for lunch then laze the whole day away until dinner time.

Today is one of those almost perfect Sundays. I slept about 4 am last night, up at 8 to let the dog out and jumped back to bed (with doggy of course). Up at 12 for lunch and the past three hours was spent on a little reading and little aimless surfing.

The weather is perfect, it isn’t too warm as it just poured and there’s a nice breeze blowing, bringing with it a gentle scent of fresh wet grass. The TV is turned on, but I only hear what seems to be an Olympics commentator talking through a table tennis match. I’m at my dining table, with the dog sleeping by my feet. I’m rubbing her soft ears with my toes and she doesn’t seem to mind. I have no idea what to do for the rest of the day, but I don’t mind (just like doggy doesn’t). There’s enough of life planning on the weekdays. I might take the dog out for walks but it depends. Every Sunday should be like this – nothing planned.

This is almost perfect. Almost because I do enjoy some kitchen time every weekend, especially on Sundays but today will be an exception. I’m uninspired as to what to cook. There’s stuff I’d like to try, but today is not a day for trying.

Today is my almost perfect Sunday.

Tell me, what’s your idea of an almost perfect Sunday?

my weekends are never without an agenda eversince the kids came along 13 years ago! but i’ve had near perfect days and one of the key element is having the liberty to just be. no need to rush, no need to make conversatioans.
